Note: A standard general pest visit won’t reach a nest hidden inside a cavity. This requires our dedicated wasp nest removal service to locate the entry point and treat the colony at its source.

Underground Wasp Nests
Yes, but these also need a dedicated treatment
European wasps will nest underground as well as in cavities, and an underground nest is easy to miss until activity around a single ground-level entry point gives it away.
Note: Underground nests need the same targeted approach as cavity nests, applied directly to the entry point. Ask us for more info if you’ve noticed wasps flying in and out of a spot in the lawn or garden bed.
Wasps vs Bees: Why We Treat Them Differently
This matters and we want to be upfront about it. So Pest Off treats wasp nests, but we do not kill bees. Bees are essential pollinators and in most cases are protected, so if an inspection reveals a bee hive rather than a wasp nest, we won’t treat it. Instead, we’ll refer you to a licensed bee removalist who can safely relocate the hive.
If you’re not sure which one you’ve got, a European wasp has a narrow waist and smooth, shiny body, while a bee is fuzzier and rounder. When in doubt, don’t approach the nest, and give us a call. We’ll help you work out what you’re dealing with over the phone or send a technician out to confirm.
